Tribulus terrestris extract is one of the most popular "testosterone boosters" in the bodybuilding supplement world and is claimed to increase lean muscle growth, training performance and fat loss.

What does tribulus do? It supposedly works by increasing the body's levels of luteinizing hormone, which then stimulates an increase in testosterone production.

But does tribulus boost testosterone to any significant degree? Is tribulus worth it as a muscle building supplement to include in your plan?

Here's the key thing to always keep in mind: the plain fact of "boosting testosterone" on its own really is meaningless in the big picture. Not only do test levels have to increase, but they also need to increase by a very large margin (several hundred percent or more) in order for it to actually have a positive influence on body composition.

Although you'll see endless advertisements touting the many "tribulus benefits" you'll experience in and out of the gym, the truth is that there isn't a single shred of actual scientific evidence to suggest that tribulus has any real effects on muscle growth or fat loss.

You'll also find many positive tribulus reviews online if you run a search, but these are almost always put out by bodybuilding supplement companies or by people who have a financial interest in promoting it to you. (I have no vested interest in any supplement brands and am only interested in providing the most accurate information possible, so you can trust this particular tribulus review.)

So, does tribulus work? It may be useful in terms of improving libido, but when it comes to actual raw gains in muscle size and strength, leave the tribulus supplements on the shelf and spend your cash elsewhere.
